About Mary Malerba, RN

Early on in my college education I had decided to major in nursing. I attended Stonybrook University in New York, changed my major, and eventually graduated from Drake University with a Bachelors degree in Art Education. After devoting many years to full time motherhood I returned to school to pursue my nursing degree. I graduated with Highest Honors from Maria College – School of Nursing and had thus come full circle.

I have studied homeopathy alongside my husband for almost twenty years. My first experience was as a patient and I must say that I was deeply impressed. I knew homeopathic medicine was vastly different than any other form of medicine I had previously experienced. I had experienced a deeply curative response on all levels, physical, mental and emotional. This initial experience hooked me, and I have devoted long hours to learning the principles and practice of homeopathy ever since.

An additional interest of mine is Native American healing therapies, rituals and spirituality. Homeopathy and Native American thought share the basic understanding that all things are connected. It is a mistake to think that we can treat a person’s physical ailments without treating the whole person. I have received formal training in shamanism. I use shamanic techniques and dream work as a path to healing and wholeness and often include aspects of these healing modalities in my work.
